Michael Johnson Final Exam Essay

The Meaning of Tragedy In Romeo & Juliet to me at the end was the biggest tragedy because all Juliet wanted was to be with Romeo but there love could never be only because there families were in a feud with each other. Another tragedy was when Romeo killed Tybalt because Tybalt killed Mercutio. I thought that it was Romeo's fault that Mercutio was killed because Mercutio and Tybalt were playing and Romeo took all serious.

Another tragedy was when Romeo was banned from Verona. Juliet was just torn apart and when her father said "Marry Paris or you will be disowned" i felt that she had no say in who she had to marry because everyone could see that she was head over heels in love with Romeo. If romeo was a Capulet then he and Juliet could be together and if Juliet was a mercutio then her and romeo could be together.

Love dying is a tragedy. Juliet felt that if she could not be with the one she loved then she would kill herself. When she said " If he be taken then my bed is my grave" i think she was really in love with him and if she was that in love with him then her parents should of respected her decision to be with him. Romeo's love for juliet was well known from the first time he laid eyes on her but he also was to wed. Rosaline but he did not want her he wanted juliet.

Romeo and juliets love will live on even after death. When romeo saw that juliet was "dead" and then he poisoned himself because he could not have her. I thought that ; that was true love. When juliet awoke and saw Romeo lifeless she tried to take the poison and nothing happened then she tried to kiss him and nothing happened then she picked up his dagger and stabbed herself taking her own life. As both of them lie there lifeless in each others arms you knew that they were truly deeply in love because they were willing to die for each other.

When there family approach there dead children they ask the friar all that happened and the friar explains to them that romeo & juliet were Married and the king of Capulet did not believe them then he saw that romeo had a letter to his father and it comfirmed everything that the Friar was saying, In the end the Capulets and the Montagues settle there differences and stop Fueding
