EDGAR ALLEN POE
(THE MEANING OF TRAGEDY)
People have different stories on how Edgar Alen Poe died... That he was an alcoholic and that he had rabies. "The brief period when he was calm and awake, Poe refused alcohol and could drink water only with great difficulty." People thought he was an alcoholic because they found him on the floor under the stairs of a bar,or in a gutter on Baltimore. On top of that they said that his cat had scrached him or bit him, but they had no proof of that.
" Rabies victims frequently exhibit hydrophobia (fear of water) because it is painful to swallow. There is no evidence that a rabid animal had bitten poe. About one one fourth of rabies victims reportedly cannot remember being bitten by the animal."
"After the infection it can take up to a year for the symptoms to appear".
" His face was pale and drenched in sweat". A lot of people say that he was an alcoholic and then they say that he has rabies. I think Edgar Allen Poe died of rabies, the reason i say he died of rabies is because in the stories that i read about his death say more things about him dying from rabies more then he supposedly died of alcoholism.They say when you get the infection you die a couple of days after the infection has shown the symptoms. Edgar died four days later after he was hospitalized. I believe that Edgar Allan Poe had rabies .
